Vegan Mozzarella

You love Mozzarella, but would like to do without animal products or just try something new? Then this vegan Mozzarella is just right for you. Super tasty and prepared in just a few simple steps. Ingredients (8 mozzarella balls):

150g cashews

250g unsweetened soy yogurt

1-2 TL salt

2 tablespoons of yeast flakes (optional)

3 tablespoons of strength

1.5 tablespoons of agar agar powder

120ml water

Preparation: 

  1. Saden the cashews into water overnight or cook them in hot water for 10 minutes
  2. Give the cashews, the strength, the soy yogurt, the flakes of yeast and salt in a blender and puree everything until you get a creamy substance
  3. Check the agar agar powder with a little water, add the cashew cream, mix carefully and cook it until you get a viscous consistency
  4. Fill a bowl of ice water
  5. Form with 2 spoons about 8 of the same size mozzarella balls and let them slide into the water
  6. Leave the balls in the cold water for about 10 - 15 minutes until they are maintained and cooled down
  7. Serve the vegan Mozzarella at will, e.g. as a tomato mozzarella salad
